At the beginning of 2008, KPMG Armenia had donated $2800 to buy windows and doors for 3 families in Khor Virap, Yeghegnut, and Lusadzor villages. Wishing to add the value of hands-on volunteering to the donation of the company, on May, 24, a beautiful Saturday, the staff of KPMG Armenia teamed up to help the family of Sargsyans in Khor Virap village to complete the interior works of their unfinished house.
Equipped with spackles and small buckets of plaster, 9 employees of the company, worked on the walls of the rooms, accompanied by the family, local neighbors, and young volunteers mobilized by IREX Armenia.
“Projects like this help homeless people to achieve their dream to have a roof over their head, and I would be glad to know if my very small contribution brought the house-warming day of Sargsyans’family closer”, said Kristina. “I believe that this kind of projects is very helpful to participants as well. It is a good opportunity to spend some time with colleagues outside working hours and to know each other better. Team work gives you a great sensation of team spirit”, said Lilit.
KPMG is now in the process of strengthening its CSR function and believes that linking agencies and multi-partnership solutions indeed give a large scope of opportunities to contribute to the well-being of the community.
