On June 17, we experienced a successful day of collaborative construction, as volunteers from the Armenian Volunteer Corps came together from various parts of the world to help a family in need of housing. This joint effort not only allowed the family to improve their living conditions but also brought them closer to achieving their dream of a new home.
՛՛It took a small group of 11 AVC volunteers, alumni, and guests Australia, France, Ghana, Canada, the US, and Spain to help complete 80% of the first layer of plastering for the Torosyan family’s home in Aygek village over the course of one day. Lots of smiles, lots of energy, and lots of plaster. Our volunteers, alumni, and guests saw the tangible effects of their work while the Torosyan family the care and dedication of others “odars” supporting them. The Fuller Center for Housing is an amazing program that is helping countless families each year. It is through their efforts that many families, just like the Torosyan’s, will move from a “container” home to their own permanent home. We are proud to call the Fuller Center a partner and hope to collaborate with them more and more down the road” shared Arina Zohrabian, Executive Director at Armenian Volunteer Corps.
This annual tradition of partnering with AVC has proven to be a meaningful and impactful way to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
