On June 11, 2022, the members of the Embassy’s Helping Hands organization joined the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia (FCHA) in Mayakovski village of Kotayk Region to help build the home of the Dumanyan family in need of decent housing. The participants did the concreting of the floors and sidewalks making a real difference in the life of the family.
The U.S. Embassy and FCHA have partnered on home builds since 2008; this year it’s already the 11th year of partnership since the inception of the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia in 2008.
The Dumanyans started the construction of their house in 2019; however, they could not complete it due to financial difficulties. Now they live in Raphik’s, the family father’s parents’ house.
“It would have still taken many years to complete the construction of the house. This is a huge support for us. By the end of the year, we will finish the construction and move to our new decent home,” shared Raphik, the family father.
“It’s already 11 years since we have been partnering with the US Embassy; it has become a tradition to join forces to help more families in housing need advocating the families’ basic human right to a decent home,” said Ashot Yeghiazaryan, the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President.
