On 18 September, the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia was honored to host honorable members from longtime and loyal partners, the Knights and Daughters of Vartan from the U.S.A.
Avak Sbarabed, Mr. Steven Adams, Nakhgin Avak Sbarabed Mr. Steven Kradjian and members from Knights and Daughters of Vartan visited the Mkrtchayns family in Avan village of Aragatsotn region whose house has been built through the generous support of Knights of Vartan. There the guests participated in the housewarming ceremony.
The Mkrtchyans are a family of four. They have been living in Samvel’s, the family father’s, paternal house with his family, parents and a brother who is also married- nine persons under one roof. Four years ago Samvel bought a three-room house in the same village for moving with his family to live there but they could do only the roofing and couldn’t afford to finish the interior decoration works. For some years Samvel tried to create minimal housing conditions, but it was so difficult to keep the family and finish the house construction meantime.
“For many years we have been trying to improve our living conditions but couldn’t afford it. Your support was a chance for us to start a new life, to finish the construction and to have a home with all housing conditions,’’ shared Samvel.
This year two homes have been built by the generous support of Knights and Daughters of Vartan in honor of late FR. Dajad Davidian.
